NEW TEMPLATES AVAILABLE in Word and PDF formats for Title I Schoolwide Programs AND identified schools under Maine’s Model of School Supports. The school-level plan templates include all requirements necessary for ATSI, TSI, CSI, and Schoolwide programs. The templates are designed to help guide the Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) process at the SAU and school levels.
Please note that each identified school and schoolwide program is required to have a school-level plan. For schools already operating schoolwide programs, please take some time during this year’s CNA process to transition to the new templates.
Notable Changes:
· The SAU-level Comprehensive Needs Assessment and School-Level Plans are separated more clearly. Annually, SAUs with ESEA funds must complete the SAU-level Comprehensive Needs Assessment to plan the use of all title funds. Title I Schoolwide and ATSI, TSI and CSI schools identified under Maine’s Model of School Supports (MMSS) must also have school-level plans developed annually based on their own school needs assessments.
· For SAUs operating only one school, there is a combined template that can be utilized to meet both SAU and school-level requirements. For SAUs with multiple schools, please have school-level plans for all Title I Schoolwide programs, as well as for TSI, ATSI, and CSI schools identified under MMSS
· Static data tables have been removed; data does not need to be transferred to the template. Instead, we encourage SAU and school leaders to use the multitude of data dashboards available to review and analyze highest needs. Within the analysis portion of the plan, please include relevant data points and summaries. To assist SAUs and school-leaders, there is a data appendix that outlines the variety of data sources that should be considered.
o Data for schools identified for support under MMSS (TSI, ATSI, and CSI) should review data that rendered the identification status. MMSS school data can be accessed using the ESSA Dashboard.
· Additional questions have been added to meet requirements for all programs. Some questions may not always apply but could still be useful in determining high needs.
