On April 7, 2021, LD 44 – An Act to Require the Department of Education (DOE) to Report Annually on Summer Education Programs was signed into law. The Maine Department of Education (DOE) must provide a report to the Joint Standing Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs on school administrative unit (SAU) summer educational programs, including but not limited to: summer school and extended school year programs, the nature of the programs, the number of participants, partnerships with community agencies and organizations, and the sources of funding for programs.
To ensure the Maine DOE has the necessary information to conduct the data analysis and to compile the report, Maine SAUs are asked to complete this survey. The deadline to do so is Friday, November 8, 2024.
